| New and Improved... Maxi Transportation... |
 Not only have we moved to a new and improved facility, but we have improved our fleet of trucks and trailers as well. Maxi has recently leased from our friends at Penske two new trucks, bringing our fleet to four tractors and two box vans. One of our new trucks is a tractor and one is a box van. We have also added ten new 53 foot trailers from Xtra Lease. These trailers, like our trucks, are equipped with GPS tracking. Just two more ways we are improving our logistic management and services to our customers.

GMA Industries, Inc. set out in 1982 to service the metal working industry in the recovery and reclamation of steel abrasives. | Fun With Drums... Storm Trooper Costume... |

There really are millions of things you can make with a plastic 55-gallon drum. We are constantly on the hunt for different ways to transform used industrial packaging into something fun. This one is sure to be a family favorite, Fantasy Armor made from a plastic drum!
Before you start cutting up the drum make sure it only contained a food-grade product or it is either a new or reconditioned plastic drum. If you are unsure DO NOT use it. If you cannot find a suitable drum for the project, just give us a call.
Follow these instructions and soon you'll have a fantastic storm-trooper or super-hero armor. You can detail it with paint and other accessories. It is a great Halloween project for the kids but definitely needs parental supervision / assistance. What are you waiting for? Start designing you very own Fantasy Armor TODAY!

| Creative Containers... "Drip" Irrigation Totes... |

Besides finding fun projects (like the one above) we also try and find out what our customers have done with our containers. When customers share an innovative use we highlight it in this section, Creative Containers. We have also started a flickr photo collection, which you can find here.
We were contacted a while ago by Allen Peisner who was interested in some 275 gallon Intermediate Bulk Containers (Totes). He told us his plans to build a garden utilizing our Totes as the water reservoir.
Recently we heard back from him and he filled us in on what he had done this summer. It is an amazing DIY irrigation system, using gravity flow, totes, 2 in. PVC piping and small sections of garden hose. This is a very creative twist on the traditional PVC pipe drip irrigation systems.
We are planning a trip to visit the garden, so expect a follow up Blog article next month from us

To wrap up the summer season it is quite common for communities to host Perennial Exchanges. This allows gardeners to diversify their perennial collection for next year by type and color. Peggy from the Ferndale Beautification Committee contacted us after finding us at the Ferndale Live Green Fair. She thought that we would be a perfect fit for their crowd and she was right!
Bob and Annette, Maxi's sales team headed out on September 24th, a beautiful Saturday morning around 10AM to meet the gardeners. Though the event was small, they were met with great response. Overall, it was a very successful day! Thank you Peggy and the Ferndale Beautification Committee for hosting this event. We hope to do it again next year.

| Maxi Movie Magic... Real Steel Drums... |

When all the movies were in Detroit, (around a year ago) Maxi was contacted by quite a few of them. One of them them is Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman. This film is set in the not so distant future where robots fight like boxers in a ring for sport. They purchased steel drums for the production. See if you can find them in the film!
